SMB Cookie Dough Fundraiser…10 years strong

The SMB Cookie Dough Fundraiser experienced another successful year with sales keeping up with last year’s results. Gross sales totaled $47,371, a 2.5% increase from last year. These results were unexpected; a decrease in gross sales had been forecasted since there was not a major trip planned for either the middle or high school music students this year. Gross sales were up primarily due to Harmoney Resources’ price increases on some of their products. Even though students sold more than what was predicted, there was actually a small decrease in the volume of orders overall: 3% less or 3451 product items in 2006 vs. 3575 in 2005. After deducting Harmoney Resources’ 60% share and our expenses, SMB realized a profit of $18,692 with 52% or $9,660 going to student accounts. Thank you music students, parents and staff for your ongoing and generous support of SMB!

Congratulations to our top sellers! The top sellers from Redwood include: Brandon Pierce (51 items), Zachary Galvin (38), David Mandell (36), Oliver Parr (36), Alyssa Peck (36) and Amanda Jeng (29). Austin Lee was the winner of the $100 cash drawing. SHS top awards went to: Victoria Azzi (65 items), Lynnea Trujillo (49), Jessica Pi (48), Michelle Vannier (46), Emily Su (37), and Tamara Schroeder (35). Winners of the SHS cash drawings were: Rishabh Jethanandani, Melody Miller, Tiffany Pham, Jessica Pi, and Madeline Renalds.

Our success this year wouldn’t have been possible without the outstanding work of so many volunteers. Committee members included: Carol Fukui (Tally Treasurer), Sefen Hsu (SHS order collection) and new this year, Pat Opatrny (Redwood order collection and Prize Coordinator). We are very grateful for your help and apologize if we have inadvertently left anyone’s name off this list.
