In Loving Memory of Shota Hasegawa
The entire Saratoga Music Community is saddened by the loss of our dear Shota Hasegawa (SHS and band and orchestra alumni 2007). Our hearts go out to his parents Takako and Kiyoshi, and to his brother Keita (SHS alumni 2009). His passing was completely unforeseen, and the earth shook today surely from this sad news.
Takako has worked in our music department for several years doing everything from bringing Mr. Boitz his morning coffee to conducting the orchestra at our holiday concert to fitting hundreds of band students in their uniforms. She gives so much of her time to all of the students and staff and is truly loved by all. Her magical smile and kind heart touch everyone who knows her. Our prayers are with her and her family.
It is hard to understand the ways of the world, but as Mr. Hasegawa said, Shota is paving the way in his new surroundings, and he will be happy when he joins his son in the future and learns about all the new adventures he is having. All of the Hasegawa men play the trumpet, so no doubt Shota is making music wherever he is.
In lieu of flowers, the Hasegawa family has requested that donations be made to Saratoga High School in the name of Shota Hasegawa.
